My favourite books of 2021 As part of the writing community, I get to read lots of books from relatively unknown authors. Let me tell you, this is such a pleasure and an honour. These days I find it difficult to pick up a traditionally published book after exploring the treasures in the world of self-publishing. From now until New Year’s Eve, I’m going to showcase my favourites. If your book is not on here, it doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it. It’s been a very difficult decision choosing these books! They’re also not in any particular order. Right, is that all my disclaimers out of the way with? I hope so! Stones of Power by Rachel Hobbs Stones of Power by Rachel Hobbs is a dark fantasy series for adults. Have you ever wondered what would happen if demons and humans collided? When Ruby meets Demon Lord Drayvex, her life is turned upside down. As she finds herself submerged in the world of demons, can Ruby save herself? With a cursed bloodline, Ruby’s days are numbered. Can she save herself with the help of Drayvex? Things start to get a little complicated as Ruby warms to the demon lord. There are currently two published books in the series, and believe me when I tell you I’m counting down to the release of book three. My Reviews Shadow Stained\u00a0 A thoroughly thrilling read! Ruby finds herself bored with life and wanting to return to the city. However, before she has a chance, her life is turned upside down. When demon lord, Drayvex, enters her life, nothing will ever be the same again. I absolutely loved this book. It was filled with demons, amazing description of magical worlds and Ruby was a badass character. It was interesting to see Drayvex develop feelings for Ruby whilst fighting his inner evil nature. A great read and I’m looking forward to the next one! *I won this book in a giveaway, however my review is completely based on my own opinion* Soul-Strung\u00a0 Do you ever put a book down and just go ‘wow’? Soul-Strung was everything I wanted from a demon filled paranormal dark fantasy. AND THE ENDING! Don’t even get me started. I love the tension between Drayvex and Ruby. Their relationship is one filled with sarcasm, hate, and yet there’s just something that keeps bringing them back together. The entire plot is so well thought through and connected. Excited to see what’s next in store for Drayvex and Ruby! Where can you find Rachel?
