Howard was born and raised in the small town of Baxley, in South\u00a0Georgia where he graduated high school prior to relocating to Macon.\u00a0While there, he attended College at Mercer University, though\u00a0unfortunate circumstances prevented him from completing his collegiate\u00a0education. He lived in a number of cities throughout the eastern part
\nof the United States before finally relocating to Florida and,\u00a0eventually, becoming self-employed.<\/p>\n
The former business owner continues to reside in Jacksonville where he\u00a0suffered an automobile accident in 2001, leaving him classified as\u00a0\u201cclinically disabled.\u201d He considers the extensive injuries suffered as\u00a0a blessing given that it, subsequently, opened the opportunity for him\u00a0to embark upon his new career as an author.\u201d<\/p>\n
A state and national award winner as a newspaper columnist years\u00a0before the accident, B. G. Howard resumed his efforts at writing an\u00a0opinion column for the hometown Baxley News-Banner in September of\u00a02015. He also writes philosophy, poetry, and short stories. B. G.\u00a0admits, \u201cThere is so much inside my head writing is simply a mandatory\u00a0outlet.\u201d<\/p>\n
He confirmed, \u201cI want to be a good author who happened to survive an\u00a0accident, not an accident survivor who became a good author because of\u00a0surviving.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the 2001 accident, I underwent more than seven years of\u00a0physical and psychological rehabilitation.\u00a0 It was during this period\u00a0when an idea entered my mind that simply wouldn’t go away.\u00a0 After\u00a0weeks of dismissing the concept of writing it down, I finally opened a\u00a0Word document and started typing.\u00a0 Oddly enough, the act proved more\u00a0therapeutic than anything as it served to more-or-less keep me\u00a0“balanced” through a really dark period.<\/p>\n
Fast-forward two and a half years later and I’d finished “something”\u00a0but had no idea what.\u00a0 Still, several years after that, someone came\u00a0across the file and encouraged me to do something with the story.\u00a0That was the very beginning of the effort to pursue the publication of\u00a0my first novel, “Family Ties: Thicker Than Blood,” which eventually\u00a0launched on April 30, 2020…some fourteen years after the idea was\u00a0first conceived.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the book launch coincided with the onset of the\u00a0COVID-19 health pandemic, and that stifled any significant marketing\u00a0or promotional efforts for the title.\u00a0 During the two years that\u00a0followed, I gained a great deal more knowledge about the process.\u00a0Though the follow-up, “Family Ties II: Blood Covenant,” has been\u00a0completed, I elected to apply the information acquired and revised the\u00a0original.<\/p>\n
That brings me to the point of Thursday’s proposed launch, as I’d\u00a0really like to share what several people have confirmed as an awesome\u00a0novel with so many who’ve not had the opportunity to experience it.\u00a0As well, I have to admit that I’m still seeking confirmation of the\u00a0fact that I meet the qualifications of a novelist.<\/p>\n

Since being classified as (I prefer the term) “physically challenged,”\u00a0I’m obviously no longer able to work.\u00a0 In order to maintain some type\u00a0of normal structure for my life, it became necessary for me to devise
\na familiar schedule.\u00a0 With that, I reasoned the best means was to\u00a0simply approach writing as a full-time career.\u00a0 Much like the schedule\u00a0when previously operating the companies, I’ve set my work hours as\u00a0being from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.\u00a0 During those\u00a0time periods, I focus on work related to my current WIP, the weekly\u00a0newspaper opinion column that was resumed in 2015 and writing\u00a0philosophy.<\/p>\n

Oddly enough, the greater portion of my time is consumed with some\u00a0aspect of the art. I’ve gotten to the point of keeping notes on my\u00a0phone which is always kept on the nightstand beside the bed.\u00a0 Often, I\u00a0wake during the night and jot down an idea for another book, pages of\u00a0original quotations, or a poem.\u00a0 It’s like when the thought comes, I\u00a0have no choice except to write.\u00a0 Otherwise, I find it difficult to\u00a0sleep and have even gotten to the point of becoming physically ill.<\/p>\n

It’s peculiar that I’ve never suffered from writer’s block but there’s\u00a0so much that occupies the space between my ears.\u00a0 The greater\u00a0challenge is actually trying to find enough time to write everything\u00a0down. To this point, I’ve completed about ninety percent of what will\u00a0be my second manuscript in that the Family Ties series came from the
\nfirst, and I’ve just started a third.\u00a0 Additionally, there are\u00a0scripted storylines for another twenty-two novels. I just pray the\u00a0Lord allows me enough time to finish all of them.<\/p>\n
