Inspired by the Master Storyteller, she pens novels drawing from her own experiences, society, and the Bible, to craft fiction that she hopes brings light to the darkness. Rebekah is the contributing writer for Secondly Magazine, Fervr, and Top Christian Books. She is also the co-host of Hope Prose, a podcast dedicated to YA books, the authors who write them, and the readers they inspire. Currently, she serves as a staff writer for P2CDigitalStratagies.com; a growing online platform that reaches hundreds of thousands of Christian teens, parents, and youth leaders each month. When not doing that, she\u2019s mentoring young writers and helping authors write pretty dang good query letters. How do you approach starting a new book?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I like to visualize the \u201cmood\u201d or \u201ctheme\u201d of the book by creating a Pinterest board and filling it with photos, quotes, and poems that fit the feeling I\u2019m trying to create within my manuscript. Once that is in place, I use a technique called WILD &#8211; Wake Initiated Lucid Dreaming where I will manipulate my \u201cdreams\u201d to do some world building and plot out scenes before I write them. It\u2019s very helpful for me and can be hit or miss some days, but overall, a very useful technique for me.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">2. How do you fit writing into your everyday life?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I am fortunate enough to say that writing right now is my full-time job, so I have \u201coffice\u201d hours from 8 AM to 11:30 AM to work on podcast, blogging, and marketing things then I work from 9 PM to 11:30 PM at night on my books because it\u2019s quieter and I find my brain is more alert and creatively stimulated.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>3. How many books do you own?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I USED to own around five hundred books, but then my family moved and we downsized a lot, so I\u2019m afraid I only own less than half of what I used to.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>4. Tell me about your current work<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I can\u2019t tell you too much about my current work as it\u2019s under wraps at the moment, but I can say that it\u2019s about a girl whose been missing for eight years, her sudden reappearance, a former cop turned cold-case investigator who is forced to work her case with&#8212;-yup, you guessed it. His ex-fiance who is a trauma therapist hired by the police he\u2019s working with.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>5. Tells us about your writing\/ published book(s)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I\u2019m a YA\/Adult suspense author with a love for digging into the hard stuff, bringing light to the darkness, and tackling other elements of the human condition. While I currently have no published works, my agent and I are currently in talks with a publisher so here is to hoping!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>6. Would you want your book made into a film?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I think that is one of my biggest dreams as an author, but I would only want it made into a film if I could have some creative input which is rare, but hey!
