My favourite books of 2021 – Witches’ Masquerade by Eva Alton
My favourite books of 2021
As part of the writing community, I get to read lots of books from relatively unknown authors. Let me tell you, this is such a pleasure and an honour. These days I find it difficult to pick up a traditionally published book after exploring the treasures in the world of self-publishing. From now until New Year’s Eve, I’m going to showcase my favourites. If your book is not on here, it doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it. It’s been a very difficult decision choosing these books! They’re also not in any particular order.
Right, is that all my disclaimers out of the way with? I hope so!
Witches’ Masquerade by Eva Alton
Witches’ Masquerade is book three in the Vampires of Emberbury Series. The series follows stray witch, Alba, as she discovers her witchy powers and moves into an abandoned graveyard with a group of vampires. Life will never be the same again.
My Review
Another wonderful book by a very talented writer. Alton never fails to amaze me at how easy it is to read her books! Before you know it, you’ve been sucked into the story and you’ve almost finished it. Witches’ Masquerade was everything I was hoping for in The Vampires of Emberbury Series. There was romance, supernatural beings, witty conversation, beautiful locations, and of course, our much-loved bumbling witch, Alba. This book was hard to put down and filled with emotions. I’m already counting down until 2022 for the release of the final book in the series!
Thank you, Eva, for writing my new favourite witchy/vampire series!
Other books I’ve read from Eva Alton
Stray Witch (Book One)
I absolutely loved this book. The mixture of vampires and magic were perfectly intertwined, leaving you eager to discover more. Alba is a relatable and loveable MC and I spent the entire book rooting for her and hating her ex husband. The book was a perfect mix of real-life issues and the supernatural – keeping you hooked on every page.
Eva’s writing is sure to put you under a spell as you find yourself unable to put the Stray Witch down. Before leaving this review, I’ve pre-ordered the sequel and I’ve bought the story about Julia and am excited to read both!
Witch’s Mirror (Book Two)
Witch’s Mirror is the second in the Vampires of Emberbury series by Eva Alton.
Honestly, I don’t think anything I can say in this review will do this book, series, and Eva’s writing justice. Eva weaves a story filled with details, scenery, brilliant characters and pure excitement. I stayed up late to finish Witch’s Mirror as I just HAD to know what happened. I’m already counting down the days until the next book is released.
Witch’s Mirror is fast-paced, full of twists, turns and you’ll be sure to gasp out loud a few times. I had to keep turning pages to find out what happened next. Certain characters had me shouting at the book, willing them to disappear. Other characters I couldn’t get enough of.
Eva has perfectly balanced this book with adventure, tender moments, and humour. As any good book should, it has left me wanting more. Thank you for allowing me to escape into a magical world of vampires and witches.
Where can you find Eva?
