Author Q&A with Tosh Reed

My name is Tosh Reed. I published my  first novel this year (as John Reed) and it did well until I had a legal setback out of my control that made me decide to pull the book from circulation.

Instead of giving up I’m in the process of writing my next book and have completed my first draft

I’ve wanted to write stories since kindergarten and have always managed to keep writing since then.

Currently I write a lot in google drive. I have it on my phone and if I have a free few minutes I write instead of flip through social media. It can sometimes be short bursts but it adds up to thousands of words a day

A science fiction story of a family trying to stay together despite the world pulling them apart. A story that examines what it would mean to live in a world where it’s possible to have your consciousness transferred into a digital world upon your death. Is it the real you? Is it a copy of you? Once you become a digital you, what will you become?

Scott Jones is a the elderly patriarch of the Jones family. The story begins as he is in the final stages of terminal lung cancer. At the last minute he gives in to his granddaughters demand for him to undergo the transfer into the network. That is the beginning of a new life and a transformation that takes him to places he never could have imagined.

Normally I would not ever want my writing turned into a movie but if the right film maker wanted to make this into a miniseries or something like that I might be okay with that. I would want a level of creative control though.

Only a handful. I’ve had to move houses so many times I just stopped collecting. Now my library is almost entirely digital. Hundreds of ebooks on my digital shelf tho. Look me up on good reads to see some of my faves.
